Description

The upper part of river Mreznica consists of a long row of waterfalls, including the second highest of the entire river, which is 8 m. Cascade waterfalls create pools of warm water between them, which make for perfect refreshment away from the coast and the beach crowd. Rafting/kayaking on river Mreznica takes 2 - 3 hours and has elements of Canyoning (natural water slides, showering under waterfalls, jumping from high cliffs, walking through the canyon).
From 2024 the upper part of Mreznica River has been declared as Nature monument "Mrežnica-Tounjčica". As a organizer of Kayak trips on that part we have concession from the Public Institution Natura Viva and we have to follow special requirements such a nature protection, using the special type of kayaks, organizing of our tours with smaller groups (max 20), watching that all our guests leaves no any garbage in that area and many more. When you arrive, you will receive safety gear (and neoprene suits, if necessary), and paddling instructions. Then we will drive you to the start.
We will pass waterfalls sometimes on natural water slides, sometimes by jumping into the lower pool or walking around the cascade, but most of them we can ride down in our kayaks. There are 15 travertine waterfalls on our way. The beginning and the end of the tour are full of action, while the middle section give us some peaceful paddling to enjoy the surroundings. The wild and amazing nature around the river, its waterfalls and differently-coloured pools make kayaking on Mreznica River a most interesting and intensive experience.
After getting to the finish, we quickly drive you back to the base, where you can change into dry clothes.
