Elephant Whispers Hazyview Animal Encounter

On arrival your hosts, the elephants extend a warm welcome. Experience the pleasure of interacting with these amazing creatures and learn about their important role as wildlife ambassadors for the African Elephant. Set off into the African bush for a midday elephant ramble with great photographic opportunities of the elephants in the bush and interacting with their Handlers. The privilege of dining with these large mammals will become a reality, as a light picnic is spread out before you, as you, weather permitting, watch the elephants cavorting in the dam, and enjoying their mud bath. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and your delicious meal in a peaceful setting, while the elephants whisper their secrets to the breeze in the trees around you.

Please note that children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is over 21 years of age.

Guests will be given a safety briefing and will be required to sign an indemnity before meeting the elephant

Location - Elephant Whispers is in Hazyview, next to Hippo Hollow Hotel on the R40.

When - Throughout the year, apart from Christmas Day and New Years Day when the facility is closed.

Weather - The activity may be delayed or rescheduled should there be a thunderstorm or heavy rain.

Wear - It is more comfortable to wear long trousers and closed shoes when riding the elephant. In summer please apply sunscreen and bring a hat.
It is advisable to use mosquito repellent in the early mornings and late afternoons.

Bring - Camera with a spare memory card and extra batteries

Visitors not partaking in the activity are welcome to wait in Reception, unfortunately they will not be allowed to watch the activity.
