Elephant Whispers Hazyview Animal Encounter

Experience the thrill of being close to these magnificent creatures; witness their intelligence, their compassionate nature and the deep bonds they share with their human family. While the Elephant Handlers share their wealth of knowledge about fascinating elephant behaviour, enjoy a wonderful hour of touching and feeding the elephants, taking photographs and experiencing the incredible trust that has developed through gentle interaction.

After the interaction, saddle-up and set off into the African bush. Enjoy a different perspective while embarking on a privileged journey atop an elephant.


Please note that children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is over 21 years of age.

Guests will be given a safety briefing and will be required to sign an indemnity before meeting the Elephants.

Location - Elephant Whispers is in Hazyview, next to Hippo Hollow Hotel on the R40.

When - Throughout the year, apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Day when the facility is closed.

Weather - The activity may be delayed, or have to be rescheduled should there be a thunderstorm or heavy rain.

Wear - Cool comfortable clothing. Please bring a light jacket or jumper during the cool winter months.
It is more comfortable to wear long trousers and closed shoes when riding the elephant.

Visitors not partaking in the activity are welcome to wait at Reception, unfortunately they will not be able to watch the Elephant activity.
